Tammy Nguyen

CEO — Vietnamese Museum Australia

“When I first discovered the Vietnamese Museum Australia, I was deeply moved by what it stood for and the vision it carried. Today, as CEO, that sense of purpose has only deepened. The VMA represents more than just a museum, it symbolises hope, freedom, resilience, and belonging. As someone who arrived in Australia as a refugee, a ‘boat person,’ it’s important to me that we’re able to share our stories with the wider community.

It’s vital that we share our stories, not only to honour the sacrifices of our parents and grandparents, but to ensure future generations understand where they come from. I want my children, and all children of the diaspora, to grow up with pride in their heritage and a strong sense of identity. The VMA is our way of safeguarding those stories and passing them on.”
