I decided to volunteer for the VMA because as the daughter of Vietnamese refugees and the mother of two young boys, I wanted to ensure that the story of my ba, má and many, many others would never be forgotten. To know who you are, you need to know where you’ve come from, and as I continue to learn more about their refugee experience, the more inspired I am by their courage, resilience and optimism. I look forward to the day when the VMA is complete so I can take my children to learn more about their Vietnamese heritage, culture and history.

I’m currently volunteering with the VMA as a Social Media Lead and am responsible for overseeing all of our accounts, as well as content creation and social media strategy. I have 10+ years of marketing experience under my belt and am currently balancing full-time motherhood with freelance work for various clients in the e-commerce space.
